St. Brendan Church/
Randolph County Community Arts Center
| In May 2000 the Randolph County
Community Arts Council was formed. The group purchased the Church
and began renovations soon after thanks to a Cultural Facilities and
Capital Resources Grant from the West Virginia Commission on the
Arts. As you can see from the pictures above they have come a long
way.
The Church was built in 1926 of hand-hewn limestone. With 4280 square feet there is plenty of room on the inside for a host of community uses. The pipe organ and bell remain, as does the 100 year old brick rectory with is attached to the back of the church. The rectory will be used for offices and rooms for art and music classes as well as meetings. |
