World Trade Center Photos

Note from our wvhome.com surfer and photographer:

Many people are passing around photos of the devastated World Trade Center buildings.  I thought I would share some photos from before the devastation, since we will not be able to see the WTC as it was any longer.

The color photos were taken from the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey -- right across the Hudson River from NYC.  I took them in the 1980's, back when several of the towers were still being built.  Only the main twin towers were completed at this time.  Whether during the day or at night, the WTC complex was always a beautiful sight.  But especially at night, in the wintertime when darkness came early and all of the office lights were still turned on... the twin towers were lit up like a jewel.  It was a privilege to see the New York City skyline every day while attending Stevens.

The black and white photos were taken at the World Trade Center.  One shows a view of the city below; another shows the Williamsburg, Manhattan, and Brooklyn Bridges (L->R), and the last one I took from the ground looking up.  Can't believe we won't see views like this again -- at least, not until the towers are rebuilt.
