Kumbrabow State Forest was acquired by the State of West Virginia in 1934. The families of Kump, Brady, and Bowers arranged the sale of land with the intentions of it becoming part of the State's Forest. There are over nine thousand acres with the land running anywhere from 3,000 to 3,930 feet above sea level making it the "highest" of all the State Forests in West Virginia. |

This is a shot of Mill Creek Falls found near the cabin area. As can be seen, the area is surrounded by dense rhododendron. The water cascades down the eight foot ledge of rocks playing a constant orchestration for your ears to hear and your eyes to watch . The pool measures about fifty feet across and is excellent for swimming (if you like swimming in cold water) or just getting your head focused on what's really important. |
There are five cabins to rent for your personal relaxation |
The camping and picnic areas are situated along Mill Creek and afford the camping enthusiast great starting points for the many miles of trails available (see map). |
